About Raissa

Born in Boulder, Colorado; raised on a farm in Berthoud, Colorado; and a resident of the Vail area since age 11, Raissa Wohlgemuth is a Colorado native who loves everything about living in Vail: the lifestyle, the scenery, the culture, the events, and the strong sense of community.

Vail is made by its LOCALS. I love helping the people who love and care about our town buy, settle down, and STAY.

Raissa’s passion for real estate started at an early age: she began her path to becoming a homeowner when she was only 20 years old and successfully closed on her first home at the age of 23.  Even after achieving her goal of homeownership, Raissa couldn’t take her attention off the market, spending much of her downtime looking through current real estate listings.  A few years after becoming a homeowner, it was time to make a career transition, and she knew her calling was to become a Realtor.  Drawing from more than 13 years of experience as a personal assistant to some of Vail’s elite residents, Raissa got her start as a real estate assistant to Ellen Smith Eaton, the friend and personal Realtor who had helped her buy her first home. After years of mentorship and guidance, Raissa transitioned into the role of Broker Associate for Smith Eaton Real Estate in July 2016.

During her career as a personal assistant, Raissa developed many skills that correlate directly with the skills of an effective Realtor: anticipating a client’s needs, solving issues before they become bigger problems, providing the highest level of personal service possible, and simplifying every process so the client needn’t worry about the details. Raissa’s goal is to make each transaction as smooth, easy, and stress-free as possible for her clients, and she achieves this through a detail-oriented approach, clear communication, and the quality team of trusted partners she has built—from lenders, inspectors, and appraisers, to the service providers a homeowner may need to call long after closing on a new home.

As any true Coloradoan, Raissa spends her free time staying active and enjoying the outdoors with her husband, Matt. Whether it’s camping, rafting, hiking, riding motorcycles, and mountain biking during the summer, or snowboarding and skiing in the winter, you’ll find her making the most of life in beautiful Vail, Colorado.

Raissa’s Mission

Raissa cares for the community here in the Vail area and wants to see it grow and improve.. The Vail area is built and sustained by its locals, and Raissa is passionate about helping locals Make Vail Home so they can continue to contribute their ideas and passions to Vail, which, in turn, can continue to grow into an even better community.

One of the main areas of concern within this community is the availability and affordability of housing. Over the years, the mission of Smith Eaton Real Estate has been to help the residents of the Vail area escape the rental market and experience homeownership.  As a company, it regularly holds home-buying seminars where its agents discuss the benefits of homeownership and bust the myth that it is impossible to buy a home in this market. Smith Eaton Real Estate stands on its proven formulas, which position buyers to own a home for less than they would pay in rent.

As an entrepreneur with a husband, family members, and friends who also own businesses in the Vail area, Raissa understands the important role that business owners play in the community and the struggles of being self-employed.  Because she personally knows the financial responsibilities, the qualities needed in a home office space, and the unique financing requirements that a self-employed individual faces, Raissa is especially qualified to help guide small business owner clients through the home buying process.

Whether enabling first-time homebuyers to experience the joy she felt at 23 or relating personally to the needs of small business owners, Raissa is always ready to put her passion and experience to work helping others make Vail HOME.
